Richard Moore is co-founder of Martello Financial Services and a highly experienced financial services expert. He has over 30 years of experience in global banking and finance, initially with Citigroup and more recently as Head of Financial Markets at Lloyds Banking Group.
Richard’s banking career began in foreign exchange trading at Citigroup. Over the next 15 years he traded a variety of currencies and assumed several trading management roles culminating with his appointment as Global Head of Foreign Exchange. Richard’s responsibilities were then expanded to include interest rate derivatives and global bond trading. In 2007, he was appointed European Head of Fixed Income.
At Lloyds Banking Group Richard spent five years as Head of Financial Markets where he was responsible for all public market sales and trading activity and was a member of the Commercial Banking Management Committee, Risk Committee and Asset and Liability Committee. He also led the initial market preparation for the implementation of the UK Ring Fencing Legislation. In addition, Richard served on the FX Expert Working Group as part of the Fair and Effective Markets Review published in 2015.
He has also served as a non-executive director at the leading credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s and until recently was an independent member of the Bank of England SONIA (Sterling Over Night Index Average) Oversight Committee and Chair of the SONIA Stakeholder Advisory Group
Richard has acted an expert witness and given evidence in the High Court.
