Shyam Patel is a Senior Consultant at Martello, where he provides independent advice on delay across construction projects.

Since joining Martello in January 2026, he has supported delay analysis within the nuclear, oil and gas, and building sectors, assisting with programme review, critical path analysis and assessment of delay impacts.

Prior to joining Martello, Shyam worked as a geotechnical engineer and geotechnical advisor, with over five years of experience in ground engineering. He played a key role in the delivery of major infrastructure, tunnelling and building projects across the UK, India and the Middle East.

Working for both consultants and contractors, he developed strong experience in geotechnical design, ground investigation and interpretation, and the assessment and management of ground-related risks. He has been responsible for technical review, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and resolving geotechnical challenges to support project progression. This experience provides a strong technical foundation for his delay analysis work and supports his ability to assess complex issues in dispute contexts.

Shyam holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Leicester and an MSc in Engineering Geology from the University of Leeds, providing a strong academic foundation in ground engineering.
