Tim Dowlen is an experienced insurance broking expert who was previously Divisional Director at Tasker & Partners, a Lloyd’s broking firm based in the City where his focus was on general, non-marine, retail UK insurances. He also acted as the Senior Examiner in Liability Insurance for the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Tim is still retained as adviser on insurance programmes by an investment management company and other UK entities, and has held various board board-level directorships of retail general insurance brokerages.
He has provided evidence in over 140 disputes, appearing in court seven times. His expertise covers a wide range of insurance activities, including fire, loss of profits, property insurances, liability insurances, professional indemnity, directors’ & officers’ insurances, private client accounts, special and unusual risks, corporate commercial motor, and claims matters.
Over the last decade, Tim has overseen the development of GBRW Expert Witness’s insurance work and has also been involved in identifying and engaging new experts in a number of specialised insurance areas in the trade finance field.
Tim holds a BA (History) degree from the University of Exeter, is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a CEDR Accredited Mediator and a Chartered Insurance Broker.
